About Us

The Hamilton Omsted Preservation Society formed when plans became known that the Hamilton Affordable Housing Trust had put the property located at 13 Essex Street into it's listing of candidates for a new development. The community and historical and environmental groups must be included in discussions.
         
This group not only wants to make sure that the town of Hamilton does NOT destroy this landmark. We want to make sure that the efforts to address the affordable housing shortage in Hamilton is addressed in a thoughtful, informed, and properly defined process. The aim of the town should be to maintain the historic and environmental aspects that make Hamilton one of the best towns of New England in which to make your home.

Hamilton has a duty to the community to make the best effort to preserve any locations of great importance. Once they are gone, they can never be restored. Please join us in this fight.
